Yes, but only if you have the legal right to work in one of the countries where we do operate the program and speak the local language fluently. You should specify this when you apply to us.

3. What does the training program consist of?
The Trainee Program involves a ten month training phase. This is then followed by a challenging first position placement.

The program begins with one week induction at Global Headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. Throughout the remainder of the training, trainees travel to different locations in their country and Zone to experience a variety of breweries and sales locations within the organization. Trainees also spend time at their Zone’s Headquarters to learn the strategy behind everything they have seen out in the field.

Once the official training period is complete, trainees are placed in their first position - a junior management role - for approximately 12-18 months before moving to their second position. At this time, careers will evolve based on individual performance.

4. How long is each aspect of the training program?
* One week induction in Belgium
* Four months of field training, of which two months are spent in a brewery operations role and two months are spent in a sales role
* Three weeks of training at Zone Headquarters
* Five month field assignment in either sales or brewery operations

Upon completion of the 10 month program, trainees will be placed in their first junior management position for 12-18 months. Based on their performance and results, trainees will then be promoted to a second challenging role.

5. What type of position will a trainee be offered after the training program is completed? What input does the trainee have in this?
Trainees will be placed in a junior management role after the 10 month training phase is completed. It will be a role in the sales or supply operation in the home country of the trainee. Placement into position will depend on vacancies available, interests of the trainee and business needs.

6. What is meant by “junior management role”?
Junior management refers to the level of responsibility you can expect in your first role. This may entail leading a small group, leading a project within a group, or performing a standard job accompanied by a specific level of responsibilities.

Each trainee will be placed in roles that have similar levels of responsibility. This will be determined using a classification system internationally recognized that systematically categorizes the level of responsibility for company job descriptions.

7. What are the steps in the selection process?
Each Zone has a slightly different timeline of events. Please check the “when we’re near you” section of this website for more detail.

11. How often will I be required to move?
You will need to be mobile within your country during the first two years of the program. Global opportunities will be available early in a trainee’s career based on talent and results and after having gained in-depth knowledge of the local operations.

12. What is a typical career path like of a trainee out of the training program? How quickly will that happen?
This program is designed for people to obtain cross-functional training and experience, and subsequently to follow a career path that involves cross-functional assignments and positions in sales and supply operations. If someone graduates with a Marketing degree, they will not necessarily work and progress just in Marketing. The program will require all trainees to gain experience in all areas of the business but the opportunity is there to explore their field of choice once the program is complete and the business need exists.

13. Can I apply to work in a country other than my home country?
The program is structured so the trainees gain experience initially in their home country. In any case, trainees must have the legal right to work in the country for which they apply and be able to speak the local language fluently. Anheuser-Busch InBev is not able to arrange work permits for trainees.

14. I want to follow a career in a specific function (e.g. Finance or marketing.) Will the Trainee Program let me do this?
The Trainee Program aims to groom our future leaders and therefore is a general rather than specific training program. It lets you experience many different parts of the business during the first 10 months. Armed with this knowledge you will then have the possibility to start your first position in a wide range of areas. Trainees often discover an area of the business during their training that they had not previously considered.

15. What if I don't want to join the Trainee Program but want a career in Anheuser-Busch InBev, are their other opportunities?
Anheuser-Busch InBev is always looking for talented people who want a career in Anheuser-Busch InBev. If we see potential applicants who are better suited for an immediate position in our company then we may offer a contract on this basis. This would mean you do not follow the trainee program but start your career in a specific function within Anheuser-Busch InBev.

16. When will you close for applications?
Due to the overwhelming response, we have unfortunately now closed applications for our 2009 Western European Global Management Trainee Program. We will open the application system for 2010 in September / October 2009 so please check back at that time. In the interim, if you wish to apply for a general vacancy please go to our global vacancies.

17. Will I still be considered to work for Anheuser-Busch InBev, even if I am not selected for the Global Trainee program?
Yes! Naturally, not all of our applicants can be offered Global Trainee positions. However, every year, we meet many interesting applicants in the selection process and may offer them the opportunity join our company through other recruitment opportunities that exist in our local countries.

We’re serious about finding the world’s very best talent – so you will be competing against candidates not only from your own country, but from the whole continent.

If you’re successful you’ll become part of a truly great team.
