About the company
Coastal Television is the first community television station in Ghana. It is “free to air” and easily accessible to communities in Cape Coast as well as communities within the 20 kms radius of Cape Coast. Through the use of music, docu-dramas, folklore, and a host of interactive programmes, Coastal Television serves as an important social mirror and bridge in moving the Central Region forward.
Qualifications
We are looking for people with a proven interest in media and journalism, and who want the challenge of working in a TV station in Ghana. We require a one month commitment, but internships can last up to one year.

Job Description
Abusua Foundation is looking for an intern to join its partner Coastal Television. As an intern you will be part of a team professionals working to create and implement television programming. You will be involved in scriptwriting, editing, and involved in all that goes to producing news, documentaries, and studio-based programmes.
Objective of placement:
The objectives of the placement are:
Assist Coastal Television in the creation and implementation of its programmes.
Advocate local and national issues, such as human rights, politics, civil liberties, social enterprise, gender issues and economic development.
Foster skill transfer between the interns and Coastal TV.
Hours
Working hours are 8:30am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, unless otherwise specified.
Accommodation
All interns are housed in the Abusua Foundation house, located on the University of Cape Coast campus. Breakfast and dinner are provided at the house, 7 days a week. Rooms hold 1-2 people and the house shares 4 bathrooms. There is a communal kitchen, living area and terrace.
Fees:
All interns are provided with airport pick-up/drop-off, orientation in Cape Coast, 24/7 Emergency support, daily food (breakfast and dinner) and accommodation for $120 a week. For placements less than 6 weeks there is a flat fee of $720.
Deposit:
There is a $500 non-refundable deposit to secure the placement, which is due 30 days after acceptance by the programme. The rest of the programme fee is due 30 days before your arrival in Ghana.
