BEYOND BORDERS Supply Chain
Supply Chain Management cares for the steering of our international material flow and the world-wide supply of the markets with our products.

As a trainee you will be involved in operational as well as complex and strategic tasks
You will get to know the core processes of Beiersdorf’s Supply Chain: “Perfect Order Fulfillment” and our product development process, “Integrated Innovation Management”.


PERFECT ORDER FULLFILMENT
This process tackles the challenge of delivering our products to the right locations, in the right quantities, at the right time and under optimal costs. Our “Perfect Order Fulfillment” comprises our "Plan", “Source”, “Make” and “Deliver” processes, managing the end-to-end flow of materials and information to satisfy our customers’ demands and increase our efficiency.

As a trainee you will contribute to three of the “Perfect Order Fulfillment” components, one of them will be realized abroad.

PLAN
Based on the customer’s demands for our products the plan process allocates the required resources for the whole Supply Chain. During your involvement in this assignment, you will deal hands-on with demand management, operations planning and inventory optimization.

SOURCE
Beiersdorf faces the challenge of sourcing high quality materials, at optimum prices, on a global scale. Performing in our global procurement network, you will have the chance to get directly involved in our supplier relationship management, getting acquainted with world-class procurement systems, tools and procedures.

MAKE
Manufacturing high-quality products, while effectively managing the complexity of our international assortment is the core of our supply chain. As a trainee working in our “Make” process, you can get involved with our factory daily operations or handle strategic issues in this area.

DELIVER
Through our international logistics, we strive to deliver our products to our consumers in an effective and efficient manner. Through an assignment in this process you will get first-hand insights in our order management, including our warehousing network, our supply planning, our distribution logistics, and how they drive our customer satisfaction and business performance.

STEP ABROAD
The international step opens new perspectives to the processes in one of our affiliates. Apart from being involved in one of the above mentioned areas, you will expand your horizons and sharpen your perception of cultural differences – an essential skill for success in a consumer-centric global business.

INTEGRATED INNOVATION MANAGEMENT (IIM)
IIM is Beiersdorf’s product development process. During your stay in IIM you participate in the coordination of all the supply chain topics related to the development of a product. You will come across make-or-buy decisions, plant allocation, sourcing of material, trial runs and logistical concepts. In this cross-functional process, you will be in close contact to all Supply Chain departments, as well as to Marketing, Research and Development, Packaging Development and Controlling.

ASSIGNMENT OF CHOICE
This assignment can be realized according to your professional interests. You have either the possibility to deepen your Supply Chain know-how engaging in departments like Business Process Management or Quality Management. Or you broaden your business acumen by understanding Beiersdorf from the perspective of neighboring departments, e.g. Marketing or Sales.
