Ghana's media industry is making rapid economic and professional advancement, according to the African Media Barometer-Ghana Report 2008 the Daily Guide newspaper is a pioneer in this area. The report revealed substantial development in media freedom and independence and showed the Ghanaian media to be one of the most successful on the continent. The print media in Ghana has been dominated for many years by two state-owned newspapers, but the landscape has changed with innovative, privately-owned publications such as the Daily Guide.
The organization is chaired by Mr. Freddie Blay, a lawyer and former politician who played a key role in solidifying Ghana’s democracy by serving in Parliament for a total of 16 years, including time as Deputy Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament.
