Qualifications
For clinical placements we require interns to be in medical school, or to be certified nurses or doctors. For public health placements, we require that interns be enrolled in a public health degree, or hold one at the BA or Master's level. We require a two-week commitment, but internships can last much longer.
Fees:
All interns are provided with airport pick-up/drop-off, orientation in Cape Coast, 24/7 Emergency support, daily food (breakfast and dinner) and accommodation for $120 a week.

Our public health and pre-medical programme is designed to meet and exceed the elective requirements set by UK and US schools, and to give you an unforgettable, hands-on insight into medicine in tropical Africa.
Our partnership with a wide range of hospitals and clinics that allow us to tailor each individual medical placement to match your specific requirements. Whether you want to specialize in a particular field of medicine such as obstetrics, pediatrics or A&E, or gain a broad practical experience across different departments, we can arrange it for you.
We also have opportunities for you to get involved in outreach projects outside of the hospitals, working with community clinics, health workers and other local NGOs.
We offer placement for the following:

As a Health Intern you will be part of a team professionals at a Ghana Health Service facility (either hospital or clinic) in the Cape Coast area. For clinical placements, you will be participating in the day-to-day management of the department and care of patients, and will assist and observe staff in their clinical duties. For public health placements, you will accompany public health nurses in their duties and help the facility organise public education and outreach in AIDS education, malaria prevention, hygiene and nutrition. Through this placement interns will gain a broader insight into the realities of healthcare and everyday life in the developing world, and in Ghana specifically.
