Anyone over the age of 18 years can apply. Our Internship programmes are open to all interested students, graduates, and professionals. We have accepted students as young as 16 however in these cases we must have prior parental consent. We also accept applicants of any nationality, so long as you are able to obtain the correct visa for the activities you wish to do in New Zealand. We offer advice on the type of visa you will need and the best way of getting it. If English is not your native language, you should have a basic grasp of spoken English and be keen and willing to acquire new words, phrases and expressions to get the most from your placement.


Come to a beautiful New Zealand and participate in animal care at an animal rescue center and sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to donkeys, horses, pigs, goats, many species of birds and more. You will be involved in the daily tasks, including feeding and hygiene. You may also have additional opportunities observing veterinary care, visiting local farms or zoos, participating in training and treatment for abused or neglected animals, and finding homes or re-releasing rehabilitated birds and animals.
You accommodation could be in a private bedroom in a beautiful family home at the sanctuary, complete with wireless internet, spa bath, and DVD room. The location is surrounded by stunning New Zealand bush and picturesque views. You will be able to immerse yourself in local flora and fauna, including many native birds that were rehabilitated at the sanctuary. Nearby is a small town with art shops, movie theatre, organic ice cream shop and lots of charm. If you prefer, off-site accommodation can be arranged.
