Shanghai SIP Engineering Consulting Ltd. is a privately owned, British-based, construction project management firm. We have been solely operating in China continuously since 1993 assisting some of the world’s largest companies establish their facilities throughout the mainland.
From site selection and concept design through contract tendering and on site construction management, our Clients often tell us the importance of our role in their success in China. We’ve worked with companies like Nike, Volvo, IKEA, Siemens and many other household names establish and expand their physical presence in the world’s most rapidly developing marketplace.
Qualifications
We want professional, energetic and hard working individuals. A business background such as a Bachelor or a Master Degree in Business School is beneficial but not mandatory.
We are looking for candidates having good communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
Good telephone skills and a polite manner that are eager to interact in the international business community are required.
French/English language have to be fluent. We are also interested in candidates with Chinese focused background.
We are looking for candidates committed for a 6-month-internship from beginning of September 2010.

Job Description
Central Business Development:
Central Business Development is the core sales and marketing team within SIP. It is our responsibility to identify construction opportunities within the foreign business community, approach them and sell SIP’s services. We are actively recruiting a French intern to assist with these efforts and help build our business for 2010-2011.
Missions:
As a Business Development Intern within the French Business Unit, you will be responsible for assisting us find opportunities within the French business community in China.
You will be expected to:
...make cold calls into international companies operating in China using the SIP Database and identify plans for development in China.
…be present to the networking events, communicate with potential prospects and find new opportunities.
...book, attend and prepare materials for meetings with high level decision makers at companies with plans in China.
...support your manager in maintaining ongoing relationships with prospective Clients. This may include attending subsequent meetings.
...be proactive and utilize your individual skills and abilities (languages, IT, networking etc) to help us win prospective Clients.

If an intern is out of the office, it means they are doing their job! We offer you the opportunity to represent our business in a relatively small foreign community. We want our interns meeting with potential Clients, networking at the French Chamber of Commerce and meeting with government investment zones.
