About the company

The Foundation for Youth Social Entrepreneurship (FYSE) is a regional organization focusing on building an entrepreneurial environment for young people in Asia.

Our programs the Paragon fellowship and the annual Paragon conference provide unique platforms to identify, nurture and connect the most inspiring young social Changeleaders and entrepreneurs in Asia to drive real change in their communities.

Qualifications

Interns with FYSE will be noticeably outstanding and will have demonstrated their abilities already, enabling them to further FYSE's mission and purpose. We would expect you to have entrepreneurial skills, strong drive, initiative and an ability to work without close supervision. You should be committed and passionate about youth entrepreneurship and working with young people from all over Asia Pacific.

PROFILE
1. Strong interest in social entrepreneurship and non-profit management;
2) Entrepreneurial and self-starter;
3) previous event management experience preferred;
4) Able to integrate in different cultures/ openmindness;
5) You need to bring your own laptop

Job Description

We seek an energetic, professional intern with a strong interest in non-profit work because you are intimately involved with all the details of non-profit management.

In September 2010, the Foundation for Youth Social Entrepreneurship (FYSE) will hold the Paragon:2010 conference, the first regional conference in Asia Pacific for young social Entrepreneurs. This high-profile event will bring together the most dynamic young entrepreneurs and social leaders from Asia, to not only share ideas, but to connect and to initiate collaborations between sectors and generations.

INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking qualified, creative interns to help us to organize and promote the conference, including:

• Marketing & Outreach: Designing and implementing creative and dynamic outreach to raise awareness of the conference and attract participants, sponsors and media coverage.
• Partnership Management: Identifying, researching and reaching out to organizations, businesses, entrepreneurs and thought leaders to become involved as speakers, sponsors or mentors in the conference
• HR management: identifying and working with volunteers from the region prior and onsite the conference.
• Logistics: Working with speakers, delegates and sponsors to coordinate their participation

LOCATION
Interns will be initially based in Beijing, and move to India (conference location) in late summer 2010.

1. Learn to work in Asian cultures
2. Gain valuable soft skills incl. business negotiations, intercultural communications, project management, time management
3. Work in a young enterprise where you are involved in every step of your project
4. Intercultural experience in China and India, the global emerging superpowers
5. Gain extensive event and project management experience by working on high profile event

APPLICATION
Your work will be challenging, varied and you will develop projects from the initial brief, concept formation, through design, development to the final delivery.

Internship period minimum 7 month (March - early October 2010) full-time, starting in March 2010 with the option to become full-time afterwards. This is an unpaid internship position.
