About the company
Description:
The company was established in 1692 and in 1997 the farm was renamed by a German guy. His enhancement programme over the last 10 years has transformed this Historic Wine Estate into one of SA's finest wine tourism destinations. Since the construction of the Estate's first cellar circa 1700, the company has produced wines of distinction for true wine enthusiasts.
The farm is 412 ha in size of which 110 ha is currently under vine. The soil types are based on granite, ie rocky granite slopes shifting to decomposed granite.
On the estate the Restaurant creates a perfect winelands memory in a unique setting.
Visitors can enjoy a sumptuous variety of tasty foods from a picnic basket on a blanket under the oaks while taking in one of the best views the winelands has to offer
In the tasting room visitors can sample award winning wines in the underground tasting room or under the new pergola whilst enjoying magestic views of Table Mountain and the Simonsberg Mountain range. Italian piadini breads are also served daily on the lawns or under the pergola.
