There are two primary areas in which International Education Interns work: 1. The State-Department-funded EducationUSA Advising Center. Duties include but are not limited to informing individuals about opportunities for higher study in the U.S.; conducting pre-departure orientations for grantees and other students; working with high school exchange students; supporting alumni associations of U.S. graduates; conducting presentations; and conducting research on specific topics related to study in the U.S. for use within the advising center. 2. The State Department’s Access Microscholarship Program for underserved Yemeni youth. Duties include but are not limited to helping develop, organize, and oversee cultural and community service events; supporting the Access Program Coordinator; consulting with students about academic and other issues; coordinating between the Access Program and the EL Department; monitoring student progress; and preparing quarterly narrative reports.
