| Description: |
Take your ideas to the top with AT&T’s Leadership Development Program (LDP). Established in 1988, LDP is AT&T's flagship career development program. Unique to AT&T, this two-and-a-half-year rotational program is focused on general management and is designed to help the best and the brightest determine their future track and focus through diverse work assignments and exposure to senior leaders. Our program will give you the breadth and depth of business experience you need to jumpstart your career.
What to Expect
The goal of the LDP is to develop competitive leaders with the skills and experience to perform well in various positions and organizations across the company, rather than focusing on one specific function. This program is highly regarded and highly rewarding, but requires dedication and commitment to excellence.
Program participants will experience three separate job rotations. Two supervisory roles will be assumed in high growth areas of the company including Technology and Customer Care. The individual contributor role, designed to offer global perspective, will be assumed in other functional areas including Wireless, Marketing, Sales, or Finance, to name a few. Throughout the rotation, participants can expect to enhance their general management and leadership skills, gain exposure to core operations, interact with executive leaders, and receive frequent developmental feedback. In addition, successful high potential graduates can expect accelerated career growth upon graduation. |

FAQ
How does the recruiting process work?
Our recruiting process involves three steps, starting with a first round interview with an AT&T recruiter, followed by a second interview with a Program Manager, and concludes with a company visit with AT&T executives for top candidates. This provides an opportunity for candidates to experience the AT&T culture, meet with current program participants, and determine the overall fit for this unique career opportunity.
How do I apply for the Leadership Development Program?
AT&T recruits select college campuses around the country. Please see our college calendar to see if we will be on your campus to meet with us in person. If you attend a school that we do not target, you may apply directly to the program online under "Job Search & Apply".
Which AT&T company will I be interviewing with?
The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a corporate-wide initiative. Candidates are recruited to participate in the program, not for placement in a specific position or business unit. Our objective is to develop high-potential general managers with the capability of working in a wide array of core company operations.
Does LDP hire international students?
LDP accepts students who have permanent authorization to work in the United States, but does not currently sponsor international students. Other career opportunities within AT&T may exist for international students.
LDP requires geographic mobility. What does this mean and how will moving expenses be handled?
LDP offers many rich job rotations across the domestic US and program participants are offered opportunities to move to new cities with relocation benefits. Job assignment locations vary and final decisions are made based on the needs of the business and the developmental opportunity for each individual. If a move is required, AT&T offers a robust relocation benefit package.
What types of career options can I look forward to upon completion of the Leadership Development Program?
The Leadership Development Program prepares graduates for positions with increased levels of responsibility and challenge. Graduates are advised to pursue line management roles where they will have the opportunity to manage large teams and further develop their supervisory skills. Line management experience is a critical success factor in reaching an executive manager role at AT&T. In fact, LDP graduates have proven to progress at twice the rate of a standard manager at AT&T. Additionally, several AT&T Officers are graduates of the program.
What benefits does AT&T offer?
AT&T offers a comprehensive suite of benefits, including health, vision and dental insurance; a 401k savings plan; paid vacations and holidays; and much more
How will my performance be evaluated?
Participants are formally evaluated by their supervisor three times during their initial assignment, and twice during each of their following. Performance is measured in two facets – what was achieved (results) and how these results were achieved (leadership). Participants also receive feedback from the LDP staff and other mentors.
AT&T is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive full and fair consideration for employment.
How are job rotations assigned?
Job rotations will be selected for participants based on their previous experience with an emphasis on providing opportunities to continue to enhance leadership skills and gain exposure to growth areas of the business.
What kind of development and training do LDPs receive?
Participants are offered robust on the job experience complimented by formal leadership training development courses. |
